HATCHING CHICKS!!
We had an incubator in our classroom full of eggs! On Tuesday, April 25 the eggs began to hatch! By Thursday we had a total of 6 chicks that hatched. Students were able to watch them peck their way out of the eggs, one finger touch them and listen to them cheep throughout the day! They were really fun to watch! Thank you to Michelle Johnson for allowing us to use her incubator, eggs, and warming bucket. It was a great learning experience for us!

BOTANICA FIELD TRIP
Volunteers demonstrated for the students the different parts of an insect. We then explored the Children's section. There was a musical maze, a giant hollow tree man, the Hungry Caterpillar and ladybugs, and and ant spot. After we thoroughly explored the Children's section we went on a scavenger hunt to find assorted items in the gardens. We were given fish food to feed the Koi too! What a great time we had there!!

PLASTIC EASTER EGG STEM
The students created their own plastic Easter Egg parachute on Wednesday, April 12. They were able to choose which connectors they would use - pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, or bendy straws. Everyone was able to get their egg parachute to fly pretty well!! They had a blast creating them and watching them sail!!

ReAd & RoMp!!
Wednesday, April 5 was the day that preschool through 2nd grade had an afternoon of reading and romping!! Volunteers read the students a fairy tale and then the students performed an activity that went with it. There were a total of 11 stations. It was a good time for all!! I found out I can't gallop anymore and needed lessons!! Mrs. Carpenter planned and with the assistance of Mr. Ponce coordinated the stories and activities. We would like to thank all the grandparents, parents and other volunteers who came to school for the afternoon to help make this day the success it was!! THANK YOU!!!
